Eligibility criteria for becoming a PMP

Please note that the PMP certification is not domain specific. It is a generic Project Management certification.

Given below are the requirements for applying for the PMP Certification Exam:

Prerequisites

  • Secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree or the global equivalent)
  • Minimum five years/60 months unique non-overlapping professional project
    management experience that should be at least 7,500 hours
  • 35 hours of project management education

OR

  • Four-year degree
  • Minimum three years/36 months unique non-overlapping professional project
    management experience that should be at least 7,500 hours
  • 35 hours of project management education
